Everyone fights, and makes up right after wards. That is not true! You are still friends even though you fight. Fighting actually brings friendships closer. You'll grow out of the fighting sooner or later. Trust me you guys are still friends, no matter how many fights you get into!

Whoever told you that is full of hot air.

It's like saying that if you fight once in your entire marriage that you should get a divorce. The real test of your friendship is whether or not you can put your anger aside and be friends again afterwards. Everyone disagrees over things, and if you spend enough time with a person you're going to fight with them.

The fact that you can fight, then make up makes your friendship stronger.
