My mom is a single parent and I'm an only child. She broke her wrist and she's been on disability since January. I just found out that we have to go on welfare and that we might lose our apartment.
I really need to find a job to help support me and my mom.
Please suggest anything for me to do. I'm desperate at this point...

That being said, you might have to consider some other options in the meantime. Just because a company won't hire you doesn't mean your community doesn't need some of your assistance that you can offer.
I highly suggest creating some flyers and posting them around your neighborhood. You can leave your phone number on the fliers so that prospective customers can call and inquire further about whatever service(s) you choose to offer. Many people might even consider hiring you for odd jobs around the house when you explain that your mother has been out of work recently due to an injury and you're just trying to help out.
Try:
Mowing grass / gardening assistance / various yard work
Tutoring (ONLY if you're really good in a particular school subject)
Grocery shopping (if you have frequent access to a supermarket/grocery store many, many elderly folks will take you up on this if you have a reasonable fee)
Having a yard sale
Make sure to talk to your mom about these sorts of jobs before even placing ads around the neighborhood. She needs to know what ideas you have. She may even be able to offer more suggestions to talk to her friends about getting you some beginners work. Most folks will also, of course, want you to have your mother's permission before doing any work for them.
As a note, these are WONDERFUL ways to build up some references for when you're old enough to be hired by an actual company. [ Peeps's advice column | Ask Peeps A Question ]
