rainbowcherrie is right. Bio Oil is a fantastic product.
Because scars from self-mutilation are usually not very deep, they will go away with time as new layers of skin surface.

I'd really reccomend Bio Oil.

It's formulated for use on scars and stretch marks and it really does work. Aside from laser surgery, which is very expensive, nothing can make them disappear entirely but Bio Oil works really well to make them alot less noticeable. If she continues to use it, she should find they fade to almost nothing eventually.

It's also relatively inexpensive and she should be able to find it in most pharmacies and online.
