Mama Drama- My mother and I have a disagreement on my sport chioce. Blehh..

Question Posted Wednesday June 16 2010, 2:48 am

Dear Mrs. Web,

My mother is a very demanding person.
Sometimes she can be really mean to me, and is driving me CRAZY, aswell as being emotionally hurt. She always yells and tells me how lazy I am. Because of this, I joined a Softball team, but It seems nothing has changed. She STILL is not happy enough, even when I am in a sport 5 days a week.
I am in all advanced classes, and I also have a 3.8 GPA. I have always strived to achieve in school to make her and my family happy. I have been in sports my whole life. When I was 10, I was diagnosed with excersize induced athsma. That made it hard for me to prefore my best along side very good athleates. I've tried talking to her, and suggesting other options. She wont even let me visit family, or hang out with friends until i join a Univercity Ski Team. I have skied since i was very young, and i just flat out hate it! and she knows that. But yet still wants me to do it.
We've even gone to counciling for this issue. I try my hardest to please her, but it sems like nothing is working.
Please help!

Katherine, 14.

let your mom no how you feel maybe through letters or emails. maybe your mom is just stressed. offer to help her clean up around the house, or do the shopping. try again to let her no how you feel about skiing if you go to counciling bring up these issues there or talk to the councler alone, if your mom acts a different way there. :)

hope that helps
