Do you need to take a tampon out when you go to the bathroom?

Question Posted Tuesday June 15 2010, 9:36 pm

I just started my period and my mom gave me some tampons to use. I'm not really sure how to use them yet but I had a question about them. I know you put them in your vagina and stuff but when you go to the bathroom to pee or poo do you need to take it out? Obviously it's in the vagina but I looked at the instruction book and it showed that there will be a little string hanging out. Should I remove it so the string doesn't get wet or dirty maybe? I'm lost.

i never take it out when i go pee or poo because the parts of your vagina that are used for peeing are completely different than the parts used for your period.

Don't remove the string because that's how you get the tampon out when its full.

Don't worry i was lost too. all you have to do is search on google "tampon facts and how to get it out and put it in" or something like that and it will help you if you just read around :)

and if it gets stuck just go take a long bath and then when your done go to the bathroom and pull it out.. when it is wet it is a lot easier to get out

hope this helps :)

The hole that the tampon goes in is completely seperate from the ones used for going to the toilet. Urine comes out of a tiny hole just above it and I'm assuming you know where the other one is.

As the seperate holes don't interfere with each other, there's no need to remove your tampon but it's a good idea to hold the string out of the way so it doesn't get dirty.
