It's hard to say how long anyone will have to go to college for a particular career field because so many things come into account. For instance, how many dual enrollment classes you took in highschool, whether or not you have to take remedial courses before taking the college classes, whether you fail any classes, or whether you take any summer courses.
Generally though, you will have to go to undergraduate school (4+ years), med school & residency (at least 2+ years), and more than likely a year or two studying your specialty. You will also have to pass a big exam sometime during all of this. You are probably looking at around 8-10 years of college before you will be working. The money is great though, so if you are dedicated, smart, and have a way to pay for all this schooling, then by all means go for it :)
If this sounds like to much for you, you can always be a physical therapist assistant. They make a decent living, and you only have to go to school for about three years.
