For about three weeks my vagina has been very itchy and irritated. I figured it was just irritated from sex so I would often use this cream that I had used from a previous yeast infection. Well, the irritation contiued and then I discovered I had a light greenish discharge, but not all the time. I used a yeast infection test and it said I had a yeast infection. I inserted the medicine for the yeast infection on two days ago but today I noticed the greenish discharge.
Is this just from the yeast infection or is it something that I should be worried about?

SWEETXLOVE answered Wednesday April 14 2010, 5:59 pm: weird .. i had the same thing happen to me. i would get a light green discharge but it wouldn't happen all the time and i went in to the doctors for a physical and i asked about having a yeast infection because i thought it may be one but i've never had one before. she took a test and it turns out i had a yeast AND bacterial infection. she gave me 2 different medications. one was a pill for the yeast infection - just one pill and the other was a pill i had to take two times a day for a week.
i'd go to the doctor, have them test you and see what they say because it could be something more than a yeast infection as mine was. i was also tested for chlamydia and ghonorrhea (sp?) and they both came back negative. it sounds like we have the same thing so you're best bet would be to go to a doctor so they can prescribe you with the right medication.

You may need something a little stronger than an over the counter cream to knock this one out. [ dearcandore's advice column | Ask dearcandore A Question ]
