i broke up with my boyfriend of two years about five weeks ago. writing, especially songwriting was my life. we even did music together and recorded it and stuff. but i havent written anything since we brokeup. i really want to but it reminds me of him it just hurts, plus i dont know where to start its like my gift has been totally flushed away for good. even my notebooks of songs vanished. what can i do??

Well, let me just say this...you haven't lost your talent. Your talent is still with you. You think you've lost it because deep down you still might be depressed about the breakup. It may seem like that temporarily but nobody and nothing can take away a natural ability God has given. Hang in there. You don't want to write just yet as the pain is fresh and writing reminds you of him. In the future it won't.
Give it a little time. It's not flushed away for good. Keep a notebook through this experience of thoughts and ideas. Soon when ready you'll be able to make it into music.
