I've been losing weight but I'm having some problems

Question Posted Thursday March 11 2010, 11:11 pm

I have been trying to get in shape for a long time. I've gone on diets, and I basically know what to eat & how to exercise.
What I need is ideas on how to keep this change as a lifestyle, and not something temporary...
Also, once I hit a plateau, it's really hard to stay on the diet because it stops working for me...

Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time

You can try to beat the weight loss plateau by going on a type of fast. It can be a water or juice fast and there are weird ones that I've never tried. But it can change your metabolism and help you with your weight loss. You can do brief fasts for like two-three days or longer ones that last like a week or longer...but you should google fasting to see what would benefit you if you're will to try it.

You will drop a lot of weight pretty quickly and it's not terribly difficult if you just keep yourself distracted and drink water all day. And you're surprisingly not tired, so you can still go to the gym if you feel like it. Hope this helps if you haven't considered it before!

The one thing to know about diets, is that they don't work. Moderation however, does.

Instead of cutting out the foods you love, reward yourself 2x's a week with your favorite dessert. Cut your portions in half. The biggest thing when wanting to lose weight is that so many people become discouraged and lose their motivation to do so. This is usually because they are dieting, and cutting out the foods they enjoy. You don't have to do that when you eat in moderation.

Instead of maintaining a diet plan that's monotonous, eat what you enjoy. Just don't eat as much of it. You'll find it's a lot easier doing so, than following guidelines as to what you should eat.

Hmmm diets are never easy but i suggest 5 a day fruit, and drink plenty of milk for strong bones, trying getting a wii fit they are really helpfull they tell you everything you need to know about your weight if your underweight perfect weight or obese for your age, and theres many work outs to help you loose calories, i tried loosing weight on the wii and i lost 2 stone only took me a few weeks :) so thats great.

But plenty or exersize will do, then after fruit, and healthy drink of water to keep you from being dehighdrated. Try late night runs aswell (:

Goodluck hun (: Jadee247 xx

Believe me when i say im going through the same thing weight loss is hard and even harder to keep it up but what i suggest is eating what you want but adding in some diet food and then exercising this way your weight will be in control and have a balance and you wont feel the need to cheat. What i do is have one meal a day of my choice and the rest of the meals i eat healthy and then i exercise which doesnt make me gain weight. Trust me this will work.Good Luck
