Lamp Shades

Question Posted Thursday March 4 2010, 9:51 pm

So, I'm in the process of doing my room and as of right now everything except my comforter is a solid color. I want to get something with a bit of a design on it to add some flavor. Urban outfitters used to make these unique lampshades with like, all kinds of colors and funky designs. The don't anymore. Do you know where I can find lamps/ lamp shades like this now?

definately go get some plain round or cone lampshades and recover them. The options are endless and super aforable because even dollar general has plain lampshades! If your just going to cover it anyways, definately just go there.
If you dont want to make it yourself though. I cool Idea for neat lampshades are going to antique stores. You could probably find an inexpensive matching pair someplace like that.

You sound creative, why not go to a craft store and buy a few supplies to decorate it yourself? A lampshade can be a wonderful and fun project, you can make it look exactly like what you want. I recommend that you stay away from hot glue though. It's messy and melts stuff. There is a new item in the sewing section at Walmart (probably elsewhere too) called Liquid Stitch. $3. in a tube, strong enough to hem jeans. Let me know what you decide...
