find out?

Question Posted Tuesday March 2 2010, 6:45 pm

Is there any way to find out if my ex bf had any diseases? I was sent an email from someone I dont know telling me, he had stds. He was also sent this message. I told him about it and he said he would go to the doctor to get checked. i know his doctors name because it use to be in his phone. so i called the place to "set up an appointment" and they told me he is not a patient there. The only problem is, is that when he told me about him going to the doctor, he told me that his doctor was a male. then later said, it was a female. he told me they did a blood test and went on a wednesday. on saturday he told me his doctor called and said he was fine. i feel like the results came back way to soon. i think they should take a week or so. also, i called the doctor back to "set up an appointment" and they told me the doctor is booked until april and this doctor only works Thursday and Fridays. the place is closed on Saturday. His story didnt add up, so i dont think he went yet. but what should i do? if i tell him this or talk to him about, he will only say you dont trust me and hang up on me. then ill never know. is there any way i can find out?

if you feel he is lieing to you why are you staying with him? have you and him did anything together if so get your self checked out. he could be lieing because maybe the results came back positive? you need to talk to him if he is lieing to you and has sex with you that is against the law.

He got an email telling him he had STDs....? Interesting. I hope that your exboyfriend isn't an idiot and this wasn't some sort of stupid chain letter ("forward this to at least 5 people or u will get aids lolllllllllllll!").

But anyway:

1) Ever heard of doctor-patient confidentiality? It's ILLEGAL for them to give out patient information (Unless, of course, he's a minor. Then they can tell his parents if they are present). Psychologists aren't even allowed to say that Mr. So-and-so is their patient. I'm pretty sure that that's what happened when you called and asked if he was a patient.

2) You have a right to KNOW. This is your goddamn body, and some diseases stay with you for the rest of your LIFE. I'm not saying that he definitely has STDs, but his story doesn't add up. What reasons could he possibly have for making this shit up?

However, I don't know why you should give a shit about your ex boyfriend's medical history and his trust. If you think you may have gotten any diseases from him, see a doctor. Don't bother asking him. He's already making up stupid shit. Just cut out the middle man and get yourself tested.

Without directly asking him, I'm afraid there's no way, such as checking his records, because everything is confidential and unless you are that person, you won't be able to see them.
Anyway, I would like to point out if you can't get a decent answer from him, YOU should go and get tested anyway. If he's lied to you already, why would you want to trust him when YOUR health is also at risk?
Don't delay and make an appointment.
You should be getting checked out anyway, despite the email you received.. which may I add, could be complete lies..
