Can you milk a dog??

Question Posted Monday February 1 2010, 11:14 pm

I feel insane even asking this... but can you milk a dog?

I have a puppy that the mother simply will not take care of and this is the only puppy that survived.

She has milk and I know it would be better than formula just like breastfeeding a baby makes them smarter and happier.

Help? If so... how? Do they make doggy breastpumps?

yes you could ask your vet. but she might not like the puppy becuse it could be sick or she dint bond with it when she gave birth to it, so she thinks that it is not her puppy. sorry to be mean but it could be true.

i would take the dog to the vet where they have the proper tools to do it. also if the mother will not nurse you can fed the puppy fresh milk with a baby bottle.. but this may give the puppy worms..i know with cats if you put warm water in the milk it doesnt give them worms not sure if its the same for dogs or not..
