should i ask?

Question Posted Saturday January 23 2010, 10:29 pm

OK so recently my mom decided to give me the sex talk because she saw a text from my boyfriend saying 'i want you so bad right now.XP'. we were talking bout sex but he told me he didn't want to force me into anything and told me he wanted to marry me and would wait till then. were both 13. he\'s 4 months younger than me. so a week or two ago he went to Georgia for football camp for a whole year and they don't allow phones. so.. i cant talk to him or see him for a whole year</3 I'm really close to his mom and she gets to see him and talk to him so i can write letters. so back to the point. my mom gave me the sex talk and thinks I'm having sex. I'm not. today i was pissed off because i have acne and I'm sick of it. my friends mom told me that birth control pills gets rid of it. i want to ask my mom if i could go on it but I'm afraid that she\'ll think I'm having sex. she knows my bf is away for a year but i don't know if she'll think ill cheat. I'm getting my braces off in October so I'm hoping that when he gets home ill be acne free and straight teeth. i also know that birth control regulates your period so i don't know if i should tell my mom that I'm having an irregular period then i can go to the doctors and get a prescription for it. i don't know what to do. i also might want to have sex with my boyfriend when he gets back but I'm most likely going to wait. I'm too young but i at least want to take it to the next step but you never know whats going to happen. helpp!

If you have bad acne see a dermatologist or a family doctor for a prescription cream that literally burns it off and keeps it from appearing again. You don't need birth control pills for that or a parent's involvement.

I'm not aware of many gynecologists that would put someone 13-years-old on them for a variety of reasons. I'm positive they would do something if severe cramps were causing a huge problem. But they aren't and it's best never to lie to a doctor about any aspect of your care and reason to be there.

Your mother knows you are a level-headed kid and probably believes you at your word. Indicate that you have NO desire to have sex at all but heard the pills helped bad acne and menstrual cramps. Ask her opinion. If you can't talk to her about it how the hell can you talk to the doctor or take a examination of your reproductive system which is a requirement?

This is girl stuff and believe me mom knows all about it and was there before you and made mistakes. Just ask you won't get in trouble.

I don't know how old you have to be for Nuva Ring but ask the doctor. It's actually good because it's not a pill you have to take at the exact same time daily or mess up and get pregnant (later on if sex happens when older). It's a monthly thing that tucks into the vagina and comes out. Less to worry over. Talk to her and jot me/us a note about how you handled this in the end.

If you do have sex, get the pill. I know people always say, don't use a contraceptive, you're too young to have sex anyways! And that ends up getting you pregnant, because I know that when you're in love with someone not much will stop you from sex. You should probably wait, but hell who am I to speak, I didn't. You could say you have really bad craps on your period or go to planned parenthood and get it for free.
I recommend the depo provera shot. It's a birth control shot, you get it once every 3 months. You don't get your period at all, and you don't have to worry about taking the pill everyday because that gets complicated. It doesn't hurt at all either they use a tiny needle, and it's cheaper if you would even pay.
Hope I helped :), and I'm sorry your boyfriend is gone for a whole year!

your far too young to be thinking about having sex.i would wait.you said it yourself.you sound like a smart girl with high morals and values.

i think there are other pills you can take for acne.i probably wouldnt tell her that you wnat to go on the pill.your doctor may not even let you perscribe it because of your age so i wouldnt try.there are other pills to take for acne...just ask your doctor about pills for acne because the pill may make you acne go and regulate your period but it will also make your boobs grow and make you gain weight so think about the pros and cons of going on the pill especially at a young age!
