Well, you need to be prepared to be hauled back home by the cops. You need to understand that when you get back, your parents will no longer trust you. You probably will not be allowed to associate with your runaway friend when you get back. You will probably not get to just go hang out with friends for quite some time.
Actually, as far as real tips for running away...you won't get any from here. Anyone giving such tips could easily be removed from the site.

It depends on your reasoning for running away, but either way, the long term effects won't be too good. The police will probably find you eventually, if your parents call them thinking you ran away or were kidnapped. Where would you live? Rent costs $$, and I mean a lot of it. You'd have to find a really good job, and even then you may not have enough. School, where are you going to go to school? If you're skipping out before you graduate high school, that's an even worse idea. And as far as college goes, do you think you can raise enough money to go to college? To get financial aid you'd need your parents information. And if you were to apply to college or attend high school somewhere else, the cops would find out where you were.
