burning when I pee after sex, no other symptoms

Question Posted Tuesday January 5 2010, 4:08 am

Hii
I'll just get right to it I guess - after sex it burns when I pee, and also my vaginal lips are just sore in general for a bit afterwards
I don't have any other symptoms, and to be honest this has always been the case in the four years that I have been sexually active. So I really tend to think it's normal?
I also get frequent UTI's and I find that if I drink a lot of water after sex, the burning goes away, so I think it's something related?
I haven't been tested in around a year and a half, but aside from maybe 15 minutes of tenderness after sex and a little sting when I pee, nothing really happens to concern me so I just haven't considered it necesary
but anyways someone I'm with started complaining today that the head of his penis hurt and that he'd like us both to get checked out
he mentioned stinging, but not stinging during urination
he just basically said that the tip has persistently hurt all day
so anyways, we're both gonna get tested ASAP because he hasn't had many sexual partners and he's apparently really freaked out about this, but I honestly think it's normal? I mean we've hung out like a grand total of four times & had sex nine, all within the last week and a half or so. So it seems normal to me that he would be a little sore? especially after almost a year of inactivity, and considering we're a little rough.
anyways, obviously only the doctor can give us a solid answer but I just wanted some opinions? Because his freaking out has got me freaking out a little bit :P I was hooking up with a kind of shady guy a few months ago, and he's the only person I can think of that I could imaginably contract something from. But it would be SO embarassing if that were the case and I somehow just didn't notice before passing it on to this new partner. I would feel terrible even if it were something easily curable, so I'm just hoping that my gut is right here and it's something normal
so yea any opinions or similar experiences would be appreciated :P sorry this is so long & thanks in advance!

It's normal to have a stingy feeling after sex. vaginal cream cools it down and it's usually gone the next day :) also helps with yeast infection. Nothing too much to worry about. Yeah it's normal for the guy to get a little redness it's just the heat from the friction of sex. I don't know if this helps but I hope so :) ♥goodluck!

This has happened to me too since i have become sexually active. The burning and frequent UTI's can be from forgetting to immediatelly pee after sex. I did that a then got a UTI and it burned and was awful! U must treat it because I didn't and ended up getting a kidney infection. If you get that then your lower back aches and you abdomen sometimes hurts and you notice you have to pee more than you normally do. You do not want that to happen! Treat it quick because you never know what the long-term damage can be. It is good to get checked, but like my guy, your guys penis is probably just worn out. Too much sex can wear it out.
