I know first hand. As a teenager and young adult, my grandma thought it was just harmless fun. She smoked a crazy amount. Now, she's dying. Slowly, her lungs are breaking down. Its terrible for our family to watch her suffer this way. Getting out of bed everyday and doing normal tasks are a problem because she struggles just to breathe. The affects of smoking have severely limited her abilities.

try doing it in a different environment. if you always smoke in one place, like the bathroom for instance, then once you go in the bathroom and go through the motions of lighting up, your body can predict what's going to happen so it starts preparing itself. just be careful and don't use too much when you're in the new place because it will be stronger.
