Certain Positions Hurt

Question Posted Monday November 23 2009, 5:42 am

So I've been having sex with my boyfriend and everything is fine. We have done missionary or just me on top, and there have been no issues.

But if we try a position from where he is coming from behind, it's extremely painful! I feel like he's pushing into the front of my belly [like a painful cramp]. No matter if we go slow, fast, nothing changes. It just hurts.

Any idea why???

Sometimes during different parts of your cycle your cervix shifts around. It's happened to me...for a few days or so I feel like certain positions that facilitate deep penetration cause him to bang on my cervix. That's because my cervix is "hanging low" at that point. It gives me the same feeling you are describing.

Also, whenever you are "turned on" your cervix retracts up, lengthening your vagina. If you aren't turned on, or don't stay turned on during sex (I know it sounds silly, but it def happens!) then sex can get painful, as again, it can hurt to hit the cervix.

Do whatever positions feel best for you. No point in continuing with something painful! It may change in a few days.

If it is something that continues, please consider going to a gynecologist. You could have a cervical infection, or polyps, or something that only a gyn could see.

From behind allows deeper penetration, it's possible that he's too big for you, and so he would be hitting your cervix. Maybe have him not go all the way in?

maybe try arching your back more. Not like a cat when it's scared but the opposite of that. I've never had pain while doing that but it feel sooo much better if i arch my back. haha but hope that works for you. Good luck. Oh and also maybe if he has a rather large member then ask him not to put it all the way in and see if that hurts any less haha
