You heard it right! I can't believe it but I am very allergic to earrings. My ears are pierced so what do I do now? Do I just let them heal over or is there something else I can do?
queenhearts answered Thursday November 12 2009, 2:48 am: It could be an infection.
I wasn't allergic to nickel until around 5th grade. It would be constantly irritated, crusty and itchy. You could try soaking your ears in sea salt to soothe it and help it heal. If it doesn't get better in a week or so. You should try getting titanium or hypoallergenic earrings at like Walmart/Target/Other cheapy jewelry stores.

I have the same problem, but I also experience allergic reactions to silver. I can only wear 14k gold or better. It depends on how sensitive you are to metals. Many people have this problem, I actually can't wear any jewellery containing nickel at all without getting a rash, itching or redness. I suggest you look for earrings marked 'nickel-free' or made of gold or silver.
