I got my first job when I was 17 and I worked at a restaurant as a hostess I worked about 4-5 hours on average on Fridays & Saturdays. I would say try going to a local restaurant business to see if you can bus tables or even be a hostess. If you can't do that then you should volunteer maybe at a hospital or even at an animal shelter. Volunteering is a great thing to put on a resume for getting a job later!

Most grocery stores won't hire anyone under 16. You're very lucky if they hire at 15. Restaurants like McDonald's or diners hire around 16 or 17. And most other places don't hire til 18.
You probably won't find very many places that are willing to hire a 14 year old because of labor laws, etc. Just babysit on the weekends or rake leaves or something. You're not gonna find a normal job for a few more years. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
