first of all, please dont lecture me. i know what im doin is wrong. but ive been smokin a pack a day for 3 years and its sad to say that my baby isnt enough motivation for me to quit. i went from smokin a pack a day to smokin 1-2 a day.
the thing is, i want/need to quit, obviously. ive tried lollipops, candy, takin deep breaths...i just cant do it.
I have two children, and didn't quit smoking until the beginning of this year.
You have to WANT to quit.
If you want it bad enough, you can do it.
I've heard everyone has their own eye opener that causes them to quit smoking, and that is what it took for me. My 2 year old found a cigarette butt and was pretending to smoke it. He showed me, figuring I'd be proud that he was doing like me.
That was MY eye opener.
I don't want my kids to smoke.
I've been smoke-free since February 19, 2009- 4 days before my oldest's second birthday. One month and one week before my youngest's first birthday.
What sucks during pregnancy is that you can't use any stop smoking aids. I had to use the patch to help me quit. I also chewed toothpicks, and avoided anything that triggered my smoking habit.

You really need to see a doctor. Doctors have methods to help you quit, but I honestly don't think you're fit to be a parent. If the life of your baby isn't enough to stop you, then you don't deserve to ever have a child.
EDIT (FEEDBACK):
Right. And because you are 16, that makes you incredibly selfish because lots of teens are, and this is why a baby should not be having a baby. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]

Obviously you are not ready to have a child. Smoking 1-2 packs of ciggerettes a day is not only health hazzardous to you and the baby but you are putting yourself at risk for a miscarriage. If having a life inside you that is growing and developing isn't enough motivation for you than sadly I don't think there is anything any of us can say or do to give you the motivation that you need. Like the person said below me you are looking at a good chance of the state stepping in. [ One_Whisper's advice column | Ask One_Whisper A Question ]
vanity-fairx answered Saturday September 12 2009, 3:36 pm: if your child's health cant motivate you to stop, what can? you need to throw out all of your cigaretts, matches, and lighters. dont buy them, dont look at them, dont think of them. keep your hands and mind occupied. and CERTAINLY dont start smoking again when your baby is born unless you want child services stepping in at some point.
