Well everyone has a first love and its really hard to get over it but the Key is TIME...time you have to give it time and it will take a long time but at the end it will be worth it...and dont try to fall in love with someone else because it really doesnt help at all trust me ive been there...but really you just gotta go out take a walk, think, listen to music get your mind off the subject...and if shutting him out is gonna help you do it cuz you dont wanna be talk to him if its gonna hurt...and u will eventually fall outta love but just give it time...

hey(: i know how you feel, it was really hard for me to get over my first love too. but that was 4 years ago. trust me, in time you will get over it, even if it doesnt seem like it right now. but you can try & distract yourself like hanging out with friends, going to the movies, read a scary book or something (:
trust me it'll get better. what helped me is everytime i thought about him i just tried to think about something else. like i didnt give in to the thought haha (:
so whenever he pops into your mind, think about smth else really quickly like homework(if youre still in school) or work, 'to do' things even if theyre not fun. do stuff like cleaning your room & listen to loud music while you do it (not sad love songs) singing also really helped me cause you can let all that frustration out. things that also help is talking about your feelings, with your mum or your friends. dont keep your feelings bottled up inside (;
i hope i helped a little. good luck!

I know what you're feeling... honestly I'm in a similar position myself. The only thing you can do is wait. Let time pass. And things will change. Something has to happen. It can happen in a flash or slowly but it'll happen, you just have to wait for it.
