I have had this problem before and I had to dump my entire computer and hard drive it it probably a virus its just that some virus protections dont ditect everything. I have the free AVG anti-virus and I have never had a virus since ive had AVG. If you dont want to looseeverything on your computer on the occasions that you can get it to work back-up everything you dont want to loose.

Hope that works.

Could you please run Hijackthis and either post the log file on here or send it to my email?

I will update my answer after I've seen the log.

If you cannot install it, try reboot your computer into safe mode and then install it. An easier way is to just restore your system back to an earlier point but you can only do that if you've made some restore points.

Also, you might want to send your question to Theymos, too. He's really good with computer stuffs. Here's his column: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
