Stretching..?

Question Posted Tuesday August 11 2009, 9:15 pm

I probably have the biggest breasts in my grade but, I don't like to show them off because of this weird red pattern that resembles claw marks located around my breasts.. is that because they're growing too fast? Is it permanent?

They sound like stretch marks, which are completely normal. Most girls get them during puberty because certain areas of their body (i.e breasts, thighs, and hips) grow very quickly. They are also hugely common in pregnant woman as obviously, the skin on their stomach has to stretch alot in a small space of time. The marks occur when the body grows faster than the skin, resulting in harmless tears in the skin's surface.

Unfortunately, stretch marks never completely disappear but they do fade to a silvery colour which is pretty much invisible to those who don't know they're there. This is a natural process which happens over time, but there are things you can to do speed it up.

I would really reccomend hunting down some Bio Oil, which is specially formulated for scars and stretch marks. Massaging this into the area once or twice a day should help them to fade alot faster. If you can't get hold of any Bio Oil, then a rich moisturiser such as cocoa butter will have a similar effect.

Just remember that they are completely normal and if you asked around, you'd probably find that alot of your friends have similar marks.

Hi :]

Yes it could be your bra that's too tight or it could be stretch marks. If they're not flesh colored then that means they are brand new or recent. Did you notice them a while back or are they new? Because the way you described it as 'claw marks' sounds like stretch marks. Hope I helped!

Btw, they're not growing too fast, they're just growing lol it's more common than you think... And stretch marks usually are permanent but I'm sure they're not that bad... I think when they are the color you mention you can actually buy things to help them clear out but I can't tell you whether they work or not since I haven't bought them.

Is your bra too tight? If it's too tight and/or the wrong size, it might be what's causing it.

Go to Victoria's Secret, or their PINK store and have one of the sales girls measure you. That way, you can find out your size AND they can help you pick out something cute :)
