How to clean pet urine stains off of carpet I am moving into a new home and the previous people had a dog. The dog peed all over the carpet and it's really nasty. We're not entirely sure how to clean this pet urine off of the rug properly. Does anyone have any ideas other than to replace the carpets entirely? THANKS :D

well the best way to clean pet stains off your carpet is to buy some carpet cleaner and sprinkle it all over the floor or at least in the spots where the stains are at and to steam clean your rug. that usually works. ]
amonia and water sprayed on till dries, then sprinkle baking soda and spray top of baking soda with peroxide and dish soap.... look it up online for exact measurements..... i used it on cat piss carpet and it worked excellent!!!! ]
Rent a Rug Doctor from the grocery store. They have products available designed to remove odors. In fact they have a product called Urine Gone or Urine Eliminator or something like that designed for that exact purpose.
I really don't think there's an alternative to cleaning the whole carpet. And I would anyway, because that smell has to be disgusting, and undoubtedly the urine got into the padding and everything.

I would try renting a steam cleaner. You can get special shampoos for pet stains for them, and they don't cost very much at all.
That's how we got the cat smell out of our couch! ]
