i've never been to an open casting call for acting.. so i'm trying to find out what it's like
do you need a resume? headshot? neither or both?
is there some paper you fill out that counts as a resume once you arrive? someone please help, preferrably someone who has been to one or really know the facts thanks!
They're the actor's union in Canada and the U.S. Don't sign with anyone without consulting it. Then if you go to the open call and they see you have an agent that will help. You'll want an agent for Background (read: extra) work.
You can easily make a head shot on your own computer using your school photo and do an 8X10 and laser print it with high quality ink and photo paper. Most actors have their credits listed on the back. In your case such a photo with a stapled or paper clipped list of credits a.k.a resume would help make you stand out apart from talent.
When it comes to open call auditions they're used to seeing people with snapshots, no resume, no experience period. There will always be a form to fill out so you'll be fine. Take your parents and make sure any offer is legit as there's a lot of scams out there involving such calls.
NEVER pay for anything or sign up for their classes. That's the first hint something's not right. Take what you have with you. You'll be expected to cold read a scene. That's if they call your name as thousands or hundreds of people may show up depending what it's for. [ solidadvice4teens's advice column | Ask solidadvice4teens A Question ]

If you're scrambling to write your name and address on a piece of paper while your at the casting call...well, what does that look like? Unprepared and unprofessional.
They may not ask for those things, initially, but if they like you they will ask for them.
