I am turning 16 years old and on my birthday my parents are letting me get a tattoo. I want a quote that is meaningful, inspirational, etc etc I want it to be short but be able to get something out of it. Also along with the quote I would like to be able to have a small picture relating to the quote. Any ideas of good quotes with a picture OR without a picture too. thanks
I would suggest looking through there & see what you find. If you happen to see something that really speaks to you & moves you, then it's best to go with that.
I know your parents are paying for the tattoo, but I would like to say not to get a picture having to do with the quote simply because it'll cost more because of detail, and size and such. I know you probably don't care about cost because it's not coming out of your pocket, but you should care because money is tight these days & your parents probably don't have a lot to blow on a tattoo.
I agree with Melody on the fact that Chinese symbols are a nice tattoo, BUT they're also very risky & I would advise against them mainly because you can never be sure if the meaning is correct. Someone could tattoo a completely different meaning on you, and if someone of Chinese origin saw it, they'd be confused & ask. So, I would try to refrain from anything in symbols. I really like "Carpe Diem". Someone already mentioned that, but I would just like to say that I really like that idea.
I like Chinese tattoos. You could get the chinese signs for "peace, love, & happiness"
This website has all kinds of short quotes for tattoos:
DarkChocolate794 answered Thursday June 25 2009, 4:04 pm: I think some good quotes could be "There's nothing to fear but fear itself", "Carpe diem" (seize the day in latin), "C'est la vie" (this is life, so is life, or shit happens in french), and "Veni, vidi, vici" (I came, I saw, I conquered in latin)
