Losing weight

Question Posted Saturday June 20 2009, 2:07 am

14/f

This summer I want to lost weight. I weigh about 115. It's not bad for me. I'm 5'5. But its not muscle. I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny either. So mostly I want to look fit. I want to try to be healthier too. So any ideas what I can do? Thanks so much!

Oh and like what to eat and stuff. I know I need lots of water. But like what would be good to eat and not good to eat. Thanks! :).

Eat well! Fruits are a great option, they're good for breakfast or for a quick snack. (I heard somewhere that apples are "negative calories," meaning they add a few calories but take a lot more to digest.) Go for a balanced diet, with grains and veggies and dairy. Eat when you're hungry, not when it's "time" to eat. Some good snacks would be fresh fruit/veggies, granola bars, or cereal. Don't forget to eat breakfast! Good luck.

running and crunches. as for eating, stop eating all that processed shit. eat whole grain bread, celery, etc.
this will make your body work harder to get those calories.

but seriously, you're fine at that weight. you girls get obsessed with the number, its not about that. look, just get toned by working out, and the weight will redistribute. at your size, thats actually pretty close to the ideal weight. besides, healthy chicks do need some fat on them, if they don't, they'll be incapable of rearing young. and thats what it all comes down to.

At your current condition, as long as you stay out of fast food, energy drinks, and sodas (such as coke, pepsi, etc.), plus drink a lot of water, and put in 20 minutes of exercise THREE times a week (yes, for you, exercising 3 times a week is enough), you can eat as much as you want and don't have to worry about being overweight.

Of course, if you would like, you can always increase the exercise rate to 30 minutes each day. But if you choose to do so, don't be too surprise when you see your weight goes up, because by exercising intensively, you're building muscles.

Also, another important note, don't try to skip out your three main meals--breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Eating right is very important for your body's overall nutrient and health.

Nevertheless, I would suggest that you don't try to lose weight at this point. And in case you haven't notice, my above advice is aiming for you to be fit, all the while staying at your current weight, not losing weight.

Don't try to lose any more weight because just about 5 more pounds (110 pounds) and you're underweight. Underweight is just as bad as overweight, and at worst, it also has potential to lead to medical complications.

115 is where you should be. In fact, with your age and height (a 5'5 14-year-old girl), the general ideal weight is 122 pounds. (This number is different depending on your ethnicity and your activeness.)

Hope this helps,
