very bad sunburn...blisters :/ 15/f
I'm in Florida for vacation, visiting my dad and step mom. The other day, we went out to the beach. Of course, Florida is very hot so I should have covered my entire body in sunblock. However, I only patted a little on my cheeks and nose :/ Yeah, a VERY stupid move on my part. Now, the sunblock I DID put on was spf 80 and worked extremely well. However, my ears, neck, and splotches of my face where sunblock was not applied are beet red. It hurts SO bad, worse then any sunburn I've ever endured :( and today, I noticed blisters on the tops of my ears! It looks so gross and hurts so much... I hate aloe vera but finally put some on my neck yesterday...so far it has done nothing, but I don't expect it to work in one day... My question is, is there anything at all that will either get rid of the sunburn soon or at least get rid of the blisters? I have to continuously wear my hair up because the blisters 'leak' (EW) onto my hair and it's disgusting... which, in turn, allows more sun to hit my neck...please help :( I'm currently just trying to stay out of the sun... which is pretty hard in the Sunshine State :/ thanks! I'll rate good answers!

oh, and I found that if you cut a tomato in half, and lightly place little thin slices over sunburn, it stops the burn. (do this to the less damaged parts of your skin) if the peels hurt too mcuh, then squeeze out the juices onto your skin, i did this on my thighs, its okay if the seeds come out.

You should see a doctor or even go to the emergency ward for treatment. Any form of severe burns can become infected and that is not what you want to happen! Infection can lead to disfigurement if you let it go.
If you don't go to the doctor, get an antibiotic ointment at the drug store and apply it. That will stop infection. Cold water will draw the heat out of your sunburn, so try cold compresses. ]
i had a terrrible sunburn a month ago...i blistered and my feet and ankles even swelled hugely. and i currently have a sunburn that blistered my upper lip. it takes awhile to go away irregardless, but i drained my blisters, and applied teatree oil overnight, which leached out the fluid (gross, i know.) but now the blisters are scabbed and i keep applying the oil, to make them soft and fall away cleaner. use lots of aloe vera, neosporin, take an epsom salts bath, and take ibuprofen. itll take the pain away alot and hopefully help with the inflamation. its verry important to stay OUT of the sun, even though its hard. using lots of lotion will also help keep your skin soft, and drink lottss of water to keep hydrated. good luck :) 17/f ]
