Actually, you can postpone your period. If you visit your doctor, he/she should be able to give you the contraceptive Pill. As long as you are taking that, your period won't come. It's actually quite common practice for doctors to prescribe this for holidays, weddings etc.

If you are already on the Pill, taking two packets without a break won't hurt as long as you don't do it regularly.

However, if your period has already arrived, unfortunately there is no way of stopping it.

You can't, no matter what anyone says, my friend. You'll just have to wait until you get off your period for the weekend away, unfortunately.

From there:

There is no way that you can make your period come any sooner or any later. Sometimes, exercise/diet changes will affect when you get your period, but I definitely do NOT recommend changing them just so you can change your period.
