Friends at War.

Question Posted Friday May 22 2009, 11:12 am

My friends and I broke out in an extreamly verbal fight yesterday. My best friend, Alexis heard I was telling everyone she likes this boy, Ben, whom I happen to like. The truth is when people asked me if she liked him, I always told them I really didn't know! I mean, she's my best friend, I wouldn't do that to her. Anywho, at lunch that day, she confronted me and said "WHY ARE YOU TELLING EVERYONE I LIKE BEN?!" and I told her what really happened and what I said. Her reaction was "I don't believe you because you've been acting fake lately, and really weird." I said Okay, and walked away. After lunch, we were on the way to our next block class. In the hall way, two of the popular, mean girls I thought I was friends with came up SCREAMING at me, when non of this was any of their buisness. Of course I yelled back, and when the teacher pushed us apart from each other, I began to cry because I was frusturated and upset and angry that I didn't hit her while I had the chance. The teacher emailed my principle and they called me down and to talk. They called the three girls, including Alexis down, too. Ever since then, they got on myspace and started talking about me so that I could see it. THey're telling everyone to not be my friend. It's seriously killing me. And today I didn't even go to school because I don't want to get beat up. I dont know what to do.. I want my best friend back. I want this to be over. PLEASE HELP!?!

Best friends don't treat each other that way. Explain to her the truth. If she doesn't listen or care about what you have to say, then forget about her.

I honestly don't even think you should be friends with them.

You did the right thing. Someone asked you something, you said you didn't know because you didn't wanna spread around false information that you knew nothing about, and when she asked you, you told her the truth.

No one told her she had to believe you. Nobody has to believe you. As long as you know you were telling the truth, there shouldn't be a problem. This is all petty middle school drama. I'm not sure if you're in highschool or what, but either way, this is ridiculous. Your "friends" need to grow up.

Only immature kids have to post bulletins on MySpace to turn everyone against someone because they're believing what they want to believe. If they were really your friend, they would've listened to you when you told them what happened. They chose not to, therefore they are in the wrong, not you.

If you begin to actually lose friends over this, then so be it. Ignore everyone. They obviously weren't your friend anyways. Delete those girls off of your friends list. Don't even try to make up with them.

I know you think that they're your friends, but they're not. If you delete them, you won't have to deal with stupidity on the internet. And don't skip school. Skipping school only shows them that they're getting to you. You need to keep showing up and continue on with your life to show them that they can't hurt you. Don't let some stupid girl and her obnoxious little friends scare you out of your education.

If they approach you, tell them to grow up and walk away. You're too mature to deal with children. And remember, if they can quickly turn their back on you like this, they can do it to anyone. So truth is sweetheart, THEY are the fake ones, NOT you.
