How can I be more green? (enviromentally responsible)
Question Posted Wednesday May 20 2009, 12:46 am
I know we've been trashing our planet Earth for such a long time and that there may not be any hope for saving it, but I want to do my best to be environmentally friendly. Having a green household sounds like the best idea. I really want to go green.
I've noticed a few products in the grocery store that advertise as being green. Buying these products (mainly Chlorox Green Works products, using GE CFL bulbs instead of standard light bulbs, and even Ziploc Evolve sandwich bags) sounds like a great idea towards saving the Earth but I know I need to take the next step forward after that so I can try to be a green consumer.
- Take shorter showers.
- Use reusable canvas bags at the grocery store.
- Set your air conditioning even just 1 degree higher.
- Use reusable water bottles.
- Use environmentally friendly cleaning products (I use Green Works :) !)
- Turn your lights OFF when you don't need them.
- Unplug things you're not using.

Cut back on water, electricity, and gas use as much as possible. I know at my house simply plugging things in uses electricity; try unplugging things when you're done using them. Try buying both organic food and clothing. Buy lunchboxes instead of paper bags. Drive less! Try walking or taking a bike, or using public transportation.
