Splinter hemorrhages are small areas of bleeding (hemorrhage) under fingernails or toenails. They take the shape of straight lines and may be caused by damage to the blood vessels.

Splinter hemorrhages appear as narrow, red-to-reddish-brown hemorrhages beneath the nails. They run in the direction of nail growth and are named splinter hemorrhages because they look like a splinter beneath the fingernail. The hemorrhages may be caused by microscopic clots that damage the small capillaries under the nails.

this is nothing to about! from what your telling me i think its just a bruise or dry blood under your nail from a little injury. and it will grow out with you nail.! theres really nothing to worry about it shouldnt be a disease or anything to go to the doctors over. unless they cause you any sort of pain which it shouldnnt. but hope i helped.! I get those sometimes. I don't know what they are either, but they usually grow out with my nail. It shouldn't be anything too bad. Although nothing wrong with seeing a dermatologist to get more of an explanation. Good luck!
