ThreeCheers answered Wednesday April 8 2009, 8:17 pm: Yes there still is a slight chance you can get pregnant on birth control. The chances are not as great as if you were not on it but there is still a possibility. Also the Day After Pill is basically going to kill the zygote if you are pregnant and your body will discard it. The lining of the womb is altered so a fertilised egg can't embed itself there. Also this can work up to 3 days after un-protected sex but is best within 12 hours or 1 day. Also the Morning after pill is only about 90% effective. Check with a doctor to make sure you should be taking this because if you have certain conditions you should not take the pill. [ ThreeCheers's advice column | Ask ThreeCheers A Question ]
Melody answered Tuesday April 7 2009, 7:45 pm: It is not unprotected if you are on birth control. Being on birth control IS protection, and it is very effective if used correctly. Since you use yours correctly, your chances of being pregnant are incredibly slim.
You can get the PlanB if you feel that you need to take it, but I would not worry about it, because you're probably not pregnant. [ Melody's advice column | Ask Melody A Question ]
WittyUsernameHere answered Tuesday April 7 2009, 4:22 am: Responsible birth control is almost completely effective in preventing pregnancy. Its possible in SOME women to get pregnant on birth control, not all, and even then its usually unlikely.
You've got about a one in a million shot.
Its not uncommon for married couples to stop using condoms and just use hormonal birth control and never have an unexpected child (at least not without antibiotics or alcohol entering the equation) [ WittyUsernameHere's advice column | Ask WittyUsernameHere A Question ]
bbbonesx answered Tuesday April 7 2009, 12:45 am: i'm on YAZ birth control as well and my gyno told me that there is a SLIM chance you can get pregnant, but again, SLIM. it's not 100% effective, just as condoms aren't either. if you want to be safe, you can get the morning after pill, but ask your doctor if it will effect your birth control at all.

reblyman answered Monday April 6 2009, 2:53 pm: I've been on YAZ for a while, and I haven't had any problems. My boy and I never use protection, and its rare that he'll pull out. If you are worried, plan B will only work with in a short period after you have unprotected sex. Honestly, you shouldn't worry yourself too much about it. I know if you worry too much, the stress will cause you to have a late period which will make you think you're pregnant and freak out more.
Just be calm, and go talk to your doctor [ reblyman's advice column | Ask reblyman A Question ]
