EYELINER AND MASCARA

Question Posted Tuesday March 31 2009, 9:34 pm

I'm a 15/f who loves makeup!
I usually wear mascara and eyeliner, and it tends to run under my eyes so im always using Q-tips to wipe it off. And when i take my makeup off it usually all runs under my eyes, so i have to rub harder under my eyes. Anyways what im trying to ask is how do i prevent sagging, and bigger eye bags from all this rubing, because im sure from all that rubbing my eye bags are only gonna get bigger.

any advice!?
please and thank you!

Here's a tip: The easier the eyeliner glides on, the easier it will glide off.
You should probably get a better eye makeup remover and rub more gently, rather than vigorously....do not rub hard under your eyes. It's just not a smart move.
It would be better just to stop rubbing completely and get an eyeliner that is not waterproof, so that it will come off on its own when you shower. You'll have to apply it more frequently throughout the day, but you'll pay more money on special creams when you're older for the saggy eyes than you will now on extra eyeliner b/c you had to reapply.
Btw, eyeliner tends to stay in the lashline if you apply it there, even if it isn't waterproof, so perhaps you should leave it alone if it doesn't come off there because you don't really have pores that will clog in your lashline to cause pimples.
But if you insist on rubbing under your eyes, rub from the outer corner of your face, in toward the nose because as you get older, the collagen tends to all gravitate to the sides of the face & downward, creating frownlines. Yes, your bags will create frownlines, as odd as that is. Gravity is not kind.

If your eye make up runs you should get waterproof.

You should not have to rub your eyes hard if you are taking your mascara and eyeliner off with make up remover. If you don't have any I would suggest Neutragena Oil Free. You just shake it up, put a little bit of it on a cotton ball, wipe across your eye and then get the excess off underneath and then you are done. =]

Invest in better quality eyeliner, mascara and a good makeup remover. You don't need to go and spend a fortune, but take a step up from the dollar store brands (and even from CoverGirl). Ask at the make-up counter and be very firm with what you want to spend. A good sales person can be really helpful.

Also, use cotton pads instead of q-tips. These you can pick nice and cheep, even at a dollarstore. That way if you need to rub beneath your eyes, you are rubbing with something smooth and flat.

You are young, so your skin is probably not going to sag from the rubbing, but it will get irratated and sore. Products do exist that work wonders, ask your friends and even the people at the make up counter and find something you like.

Hello.
It is quite simple really. Simple make-up remover you can pick up at your local drogue store will do the trick.

Go to any chemist or store specializing in make up products and find a liquid makeup remover. Since your trying to remove makeup around the eye area, read the packs carefully before buying, as most will harm your eyes if you get any in them. I have seen a few that are removers for the eye area and usually involve some liquid on a cotton bud or Q tip and removes makeup reaaaally easily. Try a few different types to see what's best for your skin and what works best for you. Ask employees what's best and sometimes spending a little more gives u the best results. Apart from that, a nice face mask now and then tightens up my skin and don't forget to cleanse and moisturize your face after you remove makeup.
