do they screw up your belly button? like when you take out a belly button piercing and the hole heals back up is it all deformed? how long does it take for the hole to close back up?
also, if you go through a metal detector at the airport will that set it off?
are they painful to get?

No, they don't. If you get it done, but decide to take it out after a while, & you let it heal properly, it should be fine. I'm not sure how long it takes for the hole to close, as I don't have my navel done, but I'm sure it doesn't take too long.
No, it doesn't go off. As long as the ring is surgical steal, it won't go off. I have my lip done & I was scared of the same thing, but my ring didn't set it off, so you should be fine.
Pain is different for everybody. It hurts for some, but not for others. If you don't have a high tolerance for pain, it'll probably hurt. I don't have a very high tolerance for pain, but my piercing didn't hurt too bad. It really all depends on you.
As far as putting them on & taking them off goes, I have no idea how to do that. That's something you could either ask the piercer OR look up online.

Actually, if it scars over, it will look weird. My friends got ripped out and both of theirs look weird. But if you just take it out and let it heal over then no it would look weird. Yes it will et it off, mine did. Not painful AT ALL. It feels like a bee sting, top or bottom, I have them both. Its nothing

No, they don't screw up your belly button. The piercing is actually in the skin AROUND your belly button, not in/on the belly button its' self.
It takes 6-8 weeks to heal if you keep it VERY clean. When you take the ring out, there is a small hole, similar to the one in your ear lobe. Again, not deformed. The hole doesn't close up IF it is completely healed. You can leave the jewelry out for weeks, then put it back in. The hole will shrink some.
I didn't bleed and it was less painful than getting my cartridge pierced. I didn't cry.
I have been on several flights, and the airport detector NEVER went off.
The jewelry is a bar, on one end is a screw and ball. The ball is removable so that the bar can slip out. You put it on very similar to putting on a earring.
