Juno MacGuff is my hero.

Question Posted Monday February 23 2009, 3:38 pm

15/F
For English we have to write a "thesis" research paper on our hero. They have to be real and they have to be famous.
If they're not real and/or not famous, they have to be illustrated through someone who is.
I want to do Juno MacGuff from the movie Juno more than anything--not just Ellen Page.
I LOVE her wit, cynicism, the way she looks at life, and her quirky lingo.

Here's the hard part. What real, famous person can I illustrate her through?
And I have to site my sources, so, I don't know. PLEAE HELP!
Oh yeah, I heard somewhere that she was like Diana ross- beautiful but mean. That doesn't help too much. THANKS!

I think Eleanor Roosevelt is a spunky woman.
Or Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) is awesome.

Read some quotes of theirs:

Eleanor Roosevelt:

Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art.

Mark Twain is hilarious:

Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying that I approved of it.

I am opposed to millionaires, but it would be dangerous to offer me the position.

I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.

Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.

Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.

Or maybe Lyndon B. Johnson? Lyndon Johnson once colorfully compared the Tonkin Gulf Resolution to his “grandmother’s nightgown,” in that “it covers everything.” Below are some quotes by him:

A man can take a little bourbon without getting drunk, but if you hold his mouth open and pour in a quart, he's going to get sick on it.

Any jackass can kick down a barn but it takes a good carpenter to build one.

Being president is like being a jackass in a hailstorm. There's nothing to do but to stand there and take it.

Did you ever think that making a speech on economics is a lot like pissing down your leg? It seems hot to you, but it never does to anyone else.

Ann Coulter, if you truly enjoy a little wit with your cynicism

If you enjoy a more spunky indiv, maybe Marylin Monroe don't think the stereotype do your research on her.

Remember, its better to research 20 topics and find a perfect one than pick a decent one out of a hat and realize you run out of information quickly. Choose wisely. Choose someone well known that has been around a while. As fun as it may sound you are simply going to hit a dead end with a really obscure person. That is, unless the paper is only 3 pages long.
