I don't know what I should feel like...

Question Posted Tuesday February 17 2009, 11:09 pm

I just found out my dad cheated on my mom when she was with us (she passed away)....what would your normal reaction be?
It is it ok to be freaking out and mad?
I'm a 16/f.

however you react is a normal reaction. you shouldnt react a certain way just because someone said you should.

whether your mad, sad, irritated, pissed off, freaking out, or just whatever about it, its normal.

Hey there...

Well it all depends, was your mum sick for a while before she passed away??

If so then I wouldn't be so angry because you were all prepared for her passing and your dad obviously had time to emotionally change.

If this is the case then your mum would want him to be happy. He found comfort in another woman who could most definitely resemble your mum. That is completely normal. It's good that your dad mentally prepared himself for the worst and when it was time for him to move on.. he did!!

On the other hand, if your mum was well and it was unfortanetly a sudden death then I would be furious. Your mum loved and trusted him and he broke that...

Perhaps you should find out a bit more from your dad before you decide whether to be angry or not. If it turns out that he cheated on her while she was live and well then he'll need to give you time to feel hatrid and anger towards him as anyone else would.

Talk to your dad honey, then you decide on how you need to feel and what ever you feel will be perfectly normal :)
