im desperately looking for another job and have filled out 7 applications in the past couple weeks. only two of the places said they actually WERE hiring but i wasn't hired. the other places didn't say they were hiring but are "accepting applications", which pretty much means there's no hope right? anyway, should i call the places that said they're accepting applications to check up on my application, or if they're not really hiring do they even look at them? and also if i do call, what should i say because obviously it'll be different than calling a place that IS hiring. thansk <3

Call and ask to speak whoever handles job hirings/interviews [probably a manager or administrative assistant] Usually managers like confidence and people who WANT the job, just don't be pushy. Call and ask if they received your application first and ask if they've made any decisions or if they are hiring at all at this time, you can say you just wanted to know since you have to call back some other job opppurtunities and give them your answer. [This works because then the manager will assume other employers are interested in you and might pick you up right away and ask you to come in for an interview] You can deff. call, just make sure you're polite and confident.
