Question Posted Wednesday February 11 2009, 10:44 pm

Hi, this question relates to a friend of mine not me. If have this friend who is infatuated with this girl. The girl doesn't want a relationship with him but likes the attention. I also found out that she gets jealous when he doesn't call and mad when he flirts with other girls. What should I do as his best friend, and how should he respond to this girl.

I agree with Hitoast, but if he asks you for your input on the situation, tell him how you feel. Be honest and genuine with your best friend, and if this is really starting to hurt or make you feel like you are lying/hiding something from your friend, then tell him what's going on with the girl. I mean, being a good friend sometimes means that you need to let them make their own mistakes, but it wouldn't hurt to tip him off about her, and if she drags you into it, you're already in it and i'm sure that your friend will trust you more than he would trust the girl.
He should do what he wants. If he likes her, let him like her. But if he knows that she is just an attention starved girl, then he shouldn't give in to her. He needs to not let her win and know that she can't always have what she wants. If he does this, she'll try even harder for his attention, and he's going to have to be strong, because girls liek this are HARD to deny and hard to get rid of.
[us girls are complicated, but some of us can be VERY persuasive and knieving.]
He could also tell her that if she doesn't want a relationship with him, than he's not going to wait around for her. :] just support him and be there for him if he needs you to be :]
hope I helped ! good luck ! xxo

Honestly, you probably shouldn't get involved. First off, chicks are really over dramatic about guys and stuff. If she finds out you're discouraging him to flirt with her, she could pull you into it. And you can NEVER know who will get hurt when a girl pulls you into their problems O.o As his best friend, I think the best thing you can do is just support him in whatever decision he makes. And then, if it doesn't work out between those two like you say, be there for him when they break up to pick him back up and help him move on :) He needs to make his own decisions and you need to be loyal and supportive of those decisions :) I hope I helped!
