Confidence and I don't mix. I'm 16/f and I'd like to talk to this guy I've been crushing on for a few years but it always turns out that my mouth gets dry, I can't think of what day it is, the whole eight yards. Is there any trick to push the butterflies away? I really like this guy, but it's not going anywhere if I can't say "Hi."

Actually, there are ways to get over the butterflies. haha that sounds so wierd in a sentence :] but you know what I mean.. okay, so anyways, this happens to me ALL THE TIME. I get so nervous and tongue tied around this one boy. I always stutter and it takes me a while to think around him haha. So annoying, I know :] But you have to become more comfortable with hi,. Try to talk to him more on the computer, so you can tease him about it when you see him in person. It also gets you to know him more without stuttering in public. After you've done that and you still have some butterflies that haven't been pushed aside yet, just try to think of somehting else when you're around him. Don't think about how nervous you are, or how you really like him and want to impress him, this will only make it worse. [trust me, haha, i would know.] You just have to take your mind off of it and pretend like this is totally normal and that you guys always talk .. all of the time. As you keep doing this, it gets easier, and the butterflies are hardly there anymore. Trust me. If you give this a try, i guarentee it will work, oh and p.s, some guys think it's really cute when you get all nervous around them and don't know what to say, most don't mind it at all. trust me, they're probably trying to impress you just as much as you are trying to get them to notice you. :] just take a deep breath and stay cool, calm, and collected :]
xxo good luck ! hope it gets better for you ! ]
There's no way to push those butterflies out of your stomach until you go threw enough things in life to make yourself become more forward. ]
