I've been going out with this guy for a few weeks now and he always makes dinner for me using his family's italian recipies. So I promised him that I was going to make him dinner. But now I dont know what to make. He's a really good cook and I know I'm not so something simple but tasty would be good. He's always asking me to make him something but I don't think he knows quite how terrible my cooking skills are. So what can I make?
sk8rqb6 answered Sunday January 18 2009, 12:01 pm: thats a tough one you might want to get a quick cook book the easiest thing would be chicken what you do is buy it, obviously, make sure its defrosted. Next step is to wash it really good. From there you can grill, rotisory, or i beleive you can boil it. Also steak would be better. When you go to buy it ask the guy who cuts it up theyll help you out telling you what to do. Now he's a good cook so it needs more Teriyaki sauce is an easy one to make and goes great on both usually grilled next answer [ sk8rqb6's advice column | Ask sk8rqb6 A Question ]

I think there are many things you can cook ;)
Im not to sure of the foods you or him like, but
Try this: A chicken stir fry
You will need:
~ 1 1/2 cups of different vegetables that you like, cut into bite sized pieces
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups Minute rice (one cup broth or water = one cup minute rice, In case you need to make more)
- 2 pieces boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite sized pieces
Put the vegetables in a frying pan with some butter, fry them up until they are tender. Then pour in the chicken broth and minute rice. The broth just adds to the flavour, instead of just using water. Stir until rice is cooked. Set aside, or keep on minimum heat and stir occasionally.
While doing this or right after, you can cook the chicken in the oven. Take a cookie sheet, spray it with Pam or grease it with butter, and lay all the chicken pieces on top. Bake at 350 degrees until they are golden brown on top. Or just taste one if you are unsure.
When the chicken is done, put the chicken with the vegetables and rice and stir together. There may be about 1/4 cup broth still left in the bottom of the frying pan, if not you can pour a little into the mixture.
Place a lid on the pan and let sit for two minutes, the rice and chicken will soak up the borth. Then dig in!
You could also make pasta with garlic bread for him, a fruit salad, sausage with mashed potatoes, boil some fresh corn, make stuffed peppers, caeser salad, lasagna is good (boil the noodles in a frying pan before you layer the lasagna if you do make one), homemade soup, grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, boil some eggs (you will know if they are done when you lift an egg out and it dries off within ~2 seconds)and make deviled eggs or egg salad sandwiches.
Smoothies are good drinks. Mix any fruits that you like into a blender, add some milk, and a few scoops of ice cream. That is all you need.
Dessert? Try jello, pudding, or strawberries dipped in melted chocolate :)
Whatever you decide to make, im sure he will love it no matter what ;)
Good Luck! [ gr8fruit's advice column | Ask gr8fruit A Question ]
