Ipod touch keeps registering as a camera

Question Posted Wednesday January 14 2009, 11:42 pm

I recently got an Ipod touch and everytime I plug it in to my laptop, my computer keeps saying its a digital camera. I have the newest editon of itunes, the latest windows updates, windows xp, and I reinstalled itunes and it still doesn't work. The ipod still works on other people's computers. I asked almost everybody and nobody seems to have the answer. I NEED HELP!

Same thing has been happening to my iphone for the past month. Although that is a camera, itunes won't recognize it and I've done everything I can possibly think of. It also works on other peoples computers and my brothers ipod works on my computer :S SO frustrating.
Although this isn't advice as of yet, I'm hunting for answers practically everywhere and will edit this if I find any! If you happen to find an answer before, please share!

the ipod touch does take pictures, which is why your computer registers it as a digital camera. that being said, it should still come up on itunes. since you have all the updates, i reccomend either going to the store, or, if there is no store nearby, emailing apple costumer service. also, you may need to just switch to another computer. at the apple store, they will sometimes switch the itunes data for free if you ask them to. hope i helped<3
