best guy friend + girlfriend
i am an 18 year old female.
alright so i have a best guy friend, i adore the kid i really do like him and i am pretty sure he knows i have feelings for him and he has tried getting with me before BUT he has a girlfriend of two and a half years. Its weird though because everyone loves his girlfriend, all the guys think she is like the hottest girl in school but when im with him and other people and someone brings her up, he doesnt really say anything and goes on to a new subject. One time he even denied that they ever had sex and they were having sex for like a year already. Maybe he doesnt want people to know, i have no idea. I know all this well because i am one of his best friends. It surprised me, because usually most guys would admit to the fact they have sex with their girlfriend and i do admire that he doesnt go around bragging to anyone about it. Does this mean anything though? Most guys would love talking about their girlfriends i would think, its not like he has anything to be ashamed of. Sometimes i feel like he is looking out for my feelings because i do get irritated when people talk about her because well she has him, and i'm stuck there watching them two be in love. Maybe i am thinking about it too much but he never brings her up, he never talks about her, when someone mentions her name he doesnt go on blabbing about her. Maybe it's just him, but i have never met a guy like this before!?

Imagine this scenario... you have finally caught your best friends attention, even though he is already dating someone for 2 and some years... You laugh at all his jokes and smile and flirt until he falls passionatly in love with YOU! But, the catch is he doesn't know if these feelings will last so he keeps his girlfriend and still goes out with you. You are second best. Then one of his girlfriends friends see you to together doing some dirty stuff (even if that is just kissing) and snaps a pic on their phone or even worse takes a video. Then sends it first to his gf and then to all the friends in her popular circle saying what a creep he is to cheat on her. Suddenly he is the one that is the backstabber and people start dissing him and talking bad about him. His once perfect relationship is ruined and so is his popularity. Every other guy is begging to go out with his ex wanting to sympathis and comfort her, making her even more popular than she started off being. He will more than likely think that you ruined a more than perfect relationship that he was in and will turn from you saying that you lead him on. Besides if he isn't that perfect guy anymore will you still have hots for him? Or are you just trying to be this major popularity seeker? I think that you should leave well enough alone. They seem really happy together and you more than likely will never reach first base with him if he is as devoted to his gf as he sounds. Find someone who is just as devoted as he is just with you. Find someone that will treat you like a princess love you way beyond you ever dreamed. Your real love is waiting out there somewhere. So girl, take off those rose coloured glasses and met that guy. You never know he might be right under your very nose.

It sounds to me like he is being sensative of your feelings because he knows how you feel about him. The quickest way to get his attention is for you to find someone else or pretend to like someone else. Guys like a challenge and as soon as he sees that you aren't there waiting in the wings, it might spur him to action. Show him he might have some competition for your feelings and you might be surprised how quick the girlfriend is gone.
