go away acne/oily skin!

Question Posted Wednesday December 17 2008, 6:54 pm

i'm 16 years old & i have had acne since i was about 11. it has gotten better throughout the years but i still have bad outbreaks, especially around my period. my face is naturally oily, and even if i wash it so much that it's stiff, dry, & peeling, the oil still seeps through and my face looks as if i havent washed it at all all day. i was my face every night and every morning with usually clean & clear products and they are okay, but do not fully help. i have tried proactive, st. ives, & differin, and all did not work. does anyone know of any solutions to eliminate the pimples and my extremely oily skin?

you'll probably get different answers from everyone, because everyone is different. In my case, a product will work for me for about a month until i have to get a new one due to my face getting too used to the product. My skin is naturally really oily thanks to being italian AND portugese(sp?). I usually use a variety of products-try a scrub in the morning. i've been using nuetragena pink grapefruit. once i used clearisel utlra daily face cleanser-worked great! until a month later. haha. i went to my doctors and she told me that a dermatologist will just perscribe the same thing they would,or a pill which really isn't too great for you. She gave me 5% Benzol Peroxide cream-best part?its free! you put in on your acne everynight and wash it off in the morning. It really works great for oily skin because though it never drys the skin out-it get rid of the oil. You best bet would be going to your doctor next time you get a physical and asking about you acne. They'll decide what you'll need. Good luck~!

I had bad acne and I tried all the over the counter remedies and proactive, they all did little or nothing. What I did use was Murad acne complex and it worked for me. I got mine at Sephora. I hope that it works for you. I recommend it to a lot of people. Once again the name is MURAD and you can get it at Sephora. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Maybe you should try different products. They have lots of acne and face washes at stores. You can get wipes for your face too, it takes away the oil on your face. Just go to your store and ask about it and they should help you out with it. Also try asking for Clearasil. It works great for me. I use it after I wash my face at night and it drys up your acne. Good luck!

There is a vitamin called Shark Cartilage. I have a friend that had horrible acne all over his body and everything, he started taking that and his skin cleared up amazingly. I recommend it to everyone, but you have to be consistant, even if you don't see changes right away. That's how vitamins work, they have to have time to get into your system. I'd give it 60-90 days, and I would take a before picture, cause sometimes when you are looking every day you can't see the changes. Peace :)
