School, Help, Kinda?

Question Posted Wednesday November 26 2008, 8:11 pm

Not sure what category to write this under. Buttt, I'm a sopohmore in highschoool. Not the problem. The problem is this year ain't lookin so hot. So, I talk to a social worker at my school once a week. Sure she helps, & I don't talk face to face. I write in this notebook I give her, then she asks certain questions, then I answer. It helps TONS. But I need to know more things to write about. I'll write about my day stuff at home, I'll even throw in quotes. But what are other things I can talk about in there so I can talk to her longer & Have more different things to write about. I'm different when I talk to her, I'm happy for the few minutes I talk to her with. So, my main question is, What all should I write about?

Not knowing about what's happening in your life, I can't really suggest anything specific.

Most importantly, you should write about anything where you want help. You might want to write down what you want to talk about when you talk to her next time, so that she knows what to expect. If there's any relevant background information that is important, make sure you include that.

You're currently writing about your day, your home life, and you'll toss in quotes... but do you ever just write about you?

Write exactly what you're feeling at the moment. Write what is frustrating you, what is making you happy, what made you laugh, cry, smile, scream, run, etc. that moment, day, week, etc.

You're happy because someone is expressing interest in you and caring about you - caring about why you feel a certain way and someone who wants you to improve.

You can write anything? Write a poem or a short story. Write an essay about how you feel after speaking with her and why you think you feel that way.
For me, opening up is important in getting help for oneself.

I know this is totally off topic, but if you're ever having a really bad or really good day, write down every emotion you felt and WHY. The most important thing when writing about your feelings is discovering the triggers so you can know how to stay away from the negative triggers, revolve around the positive triggers, and deal with any negative triggers that are in the way and won't ever disappear.

As for your journal, the only thing I can think to add are lyrics, your own writings if you write, your actual feelings rather than just day-to-day habits.

Not quite sure what to give - the only journals I have ever kept were strictly personal.
