Maybe give some free advice about: Theater? surferchick16 answered Saturday November 15 2008, 7:03 pm: if you look on Neil SImon's monologue website there is usually a bunch of funny and serious monologues to choose from. The one I competed with from last year was called "The Favorite" by Kathy White, the book is called " Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night". Another one from there would be "Picking Scabs."
Another good one is from the play "Have you heard?" and the monologue is said by Cleo. She talks about her boyfriend dying in a car accident.
Another good serious monologue that is kinda long so you would have to cut it would be "Mom the Mercer and Me, from the play "The American Car, the American Dream."
