Well that depends. Does she have Alzheimers
or something that makes her do these things?
Or does she just feel she doesn't need the help?

Many 73 year olds are quite capable of doing
for themselves. So while you may think you are
helping, she may think you are really saying,
Hey, you're to old to be doing that!

If she really is feeble or has problems, let
her do what she can on her own. Its very
important that people feel useful and able
to take care of themselves. Let her ask for
help if she needs it. If you must step in,
just understand it is very frustrating for
her to give up her independence.

Have some fun, my grandmother loves dominos. Watch a movie together. Do some things she likes to do. OR sit down and talk with her. Let her know how you feel. Shes your mother and she will understand. Your mother isn't getting any younger and she is probably now relizing that. Stubborn Elders. Although they most always know what is best. Ask her what she want's. She doesn't want help because it makes her feel like she can't do it. Good Luck
