I'm so insecure!

I want to ask girls out but there's just a voice at the back of my head that's constantly saying "Why would she ever want to go out with you?"
I'm a really funny guy and I can always make girls laugh, and I know that's a sign that they like you, but I still can't get rid of that damn voice. Where did it come from and how do I get rid of it!

What all you guys dont seem to understand is secretly we girls LOVE confidence. Why do you think that we chase after them. We also do like sweet guys aswell. But be who you are and find security in that. Like you said you get the girls laughing. Girls LOVE that. If funny is what you do then ask a girl out in a funny mannor. Seriously I have major self esteem problems and yet somehow all the guys like me hahaha it still sounds funny saying it. But be yourself babe and good things will happen. Well, a confident guy definitely puts a girl in a spot where she actually considers you, a GOOD thing! So just boost yourself esteem a litle more, making girls laugh is a toal bonus. Find more things you're good at and focus on that... When that voice comes back again, you can answer it, you can say, "It is because,... I can make her laugh and not many guys can do that, so that's a bonus!" You can fill it in without whatever you're good at!

That is insecurity, and it comes from life. Lol.
There are a lot of ways that you can deal with this. There's the "Ignore the Voice" method, which is hard. It's really hard to make that voice shut up.
There's the "Booze" method, but you might make an ass out of yourself.
I recommend the "Practice" method. Get a chick friend and practice asking her out. It'll be dumb at first, but it really does help. Then, just take a deep breath and spit it out to a girl you like before that voice can kick in.
It's hard, slightly unpleasant and I do not envy you, but I had to do it... so you can too. ^_^
I promise it gets easier and that voice goes far far away to a land where anorexic girls feast on lard.
