Hi I am a 16 year old female, well I don't really have a problem but my style is very sporty, I am tomboyish and mostly everyday I wear like tshirts and jeans, and hoodies. I have never been interested in like dresses or skirts, but I really would like to be a little more fashionable, not because of popularity issues or anything, but just because since I am getting older I want to look a little more mature and not look like I am hiding myself. Of course I still am myself, I dont want to change that, but what would you suggest to help boost my confidence and where would be a good start to being a little more fashionable? I don't like to be really glitzy or catch EVERYONE's attention walking down the halls. Just a small change... for example what types of stores should i look at? (online preferably). and anything else you think would help...
by the way I dont have much money for like abercrombie and hollister and anyways I don't really want to wear their stuff, not that I dont like their clothing but I don't really like the whole brand name thing that EVERYONE wears.
Thanks!!

i am one of the girliest girls you will ever meet.like the person said below me, abercrombie and hollister is what teenagers wear nowadays! including me. but i also like express, even though their stuff is expensive. you can go to places like charlotte russe or vanity (if you have one in your area) just wear some cute jeans and a cute long sleeve top, even target has cute things sometimes! other places that arent very expensive but have cute clothes is khols and jcpenney. im sorry if im not much help, but i like to shop at places that are pretty expensive, but that's me! its totally acceptable that you dont want to spend that much on clothes. if you need any more idea's let me know and also let me know how much you are willing to spend so i have more of an idea! leave one in the inbox if you need anything ♥ LU [ SWEETXLOVE's advice column | Ask SWEETXLOVE A Question ]

but when your 16, Hollister&Abercrombie are pretty much the ONLY thing. although i honestly REALLY don't like Abercrombie
Or just go to Pacsun, they arent very brandsy.
They have a good variety also (:
hope i helped at least a little (; [ lanabear711's advice column | Ask lanabear711 A Question ]
8ibah04 answered Wednesday October 15 2008, 2:28 pm: Burlington is a good place, not expensive. And to be more fashionable you dont have to do the whole dresses and skirts thing, cause Im a tomboy too, so what I'll do because my mother is always on my case about being more girly and stuff which is not so me, so I just usually by tunics like minidresses and where it over some jeans with some sneakers or any shoes of your choice. Tunics come in all different styles and colors and things like that, and if you want to dress it up more, you can where a belt or chain belt around it or a scarf, just be you in your own way. GOOD LUCK [ 8ibah04's advice column | Ask 8ibah04 A Question ]
