I got my first job when I was 15, and I'm pretty sure you have to have working papers and can't work past a certain hour. I live in Massachusetts, but the rules aren't the same everywhere.

I mostly walked around my town and applied locally and at places a few towns over.
Just a few tips:
When you go somewhere to apply they will most likely ask your social security number and whether you have experience with the public and contacts (such as volunteering, etc) among other things (like when you can work). So I would write down your SS number and the phone numbers and names of the directors of programs you've participated in to be prepared.
Also, if they don't call you, don't take it personally and keep persistence. I got rejected from a lot of places but eventually ended up finding a cute little bakery that was perfect.
Good luck. =]

It'd probably help if you said what state you lived in, because some state's rules differ from others..but i'll try to help you as best I can. :)

I want to tell you that at your age, you shouldn't expect too much when finding a job. Do NOT turn down ANY jobs. Fast food restaurants are great - YES they are "real" jobs. In fact, Mcdonald's gives professional training that can really benefit you. Gain the experience, learn from it, put it down on your resume. =) And grow from there my friend. Apply EVERYWHERE. If they're not interested, they won't give you a call. That's just it. If they are, and ask for an interview, do not keep addressing that you're 15. They're not allowed to ask you for your age anyways =)

I guess I can also suggest babysitting, but when I was 15, I know I wanted a "real" job, and not just babysitting, or yard work, or asking Mom and Dad to do chores around the house...& i'm sure you're the same way...or you wouldn't be asking this question lol. ;)
